This heat is truly unbarable. When I was sixteen and a size 0, I didn't have to worry about wearing something that covered me tastefully. But as I mature, I'm no longer interested in wearing the shortest of shorts and the tightest of tank tops. So how do I stay cool?

This skirt from Flourish Boutique is perfect. It's lightweight and breathable, but also keeps me covered. Paired with a lightweight, almost see through (also breathable) top, it makes the perfect hot summer outfit.

Last week I met with an old friend for a photo shoot. I have known Will since we were tiny. Our older sisters were elementary school friends, so that tells you how far back. So of course when I decided to start this blog I knew I'd be needing his photography skills.

My inner country girl comes out whenever I wear these boots. There's something about a perfect pair of cowboy boots with the perfect denim. I feel so red, white, and blue wearing this!

Pink Delight

I titled this "Pink Delight" because for the longest time I didn't think I could wear hot pink, that it wasn't "my color". But with the right combination of black, white, and gold, I was pleasantly surprised. I may be adding hot pink to my wardrobe soon...

I love this dress so much. The edgy/romantic look is something I've always been a fan of. 

Down by the Water

I kept it simple today with this nautical look. This dress is so comfortable and just overall amazing. I can't decide what my favorite part is: the small diagonal stripes on the sides, the oversized bow, the rope belt, or the fact that it's a maxi.... gotta love the maxis.

I may have found my perfect cocktail dress. Bought from my place of internship (Flourish Boutique), I'm definitely going to wear it this summer at the rehearsal dinner for my mom's wedding.

And I have to thank my gorgeous cousin, Amanda for letting me borrow her earrings.

Today ends my internship with Flourish Boutique. I learned so much and will miss the beautiful merchandise and people I got to work with every day. But I'm looking forward to heading back to my hometown for the rest of the summer, and spending my days with my best friend :)

I'm so sad that I didn't discover my love for maxi dresses until recently. You get the dressed up look without worrying that it'll blow in an unattractive angle in the wind, or that you'll flash someone getting out of your car. Something casual like this dress is also very comfortable for lounging :)
